We've had days upon days of gray winter gloom here, which has had no small part in influencing my music selections recently. The first time I heard this song, "Home", by The Cinematics, I was struck by it's simplistic beauty and slightly forlorn quality, not to mention the striking similarity between the vocals on this particular track and one of my favorite artists of all time, Jeff Buckley. I've probably listened to this song two dozen times in the past few days, like I can't be quenched of the thirst to hear it. It's achingly gorgeous.
The Fratellis give "All Along The Watchtower" a go:

Wow, I feel like it's been forever since I posted anything. I've been so caught up in work and school that I've barely had time to breathe. Finals are looming, research papers are waiting to be written, work is busy, there's Christmas shopping to be done, holiday preparations to make, etc. It's overwhelming. I have no idea when I'll cram everything in.
The weather has finally changed here, and it's feeling like winter now. The skies have been so gray lately, and the wind so cold. Makes me want to snuggle under a blanket with a good book and a cup of hot chocolate.
*makes mental note to do so later*
Today is actually a rare sunny day, and the air is crisp and clean. The red and gold leaves are gleaming, and the world feels so alive.
Because it's such a lovely day, I'm in the mood for music that's light-hearted and whimsical. This has been playing in my car today:
Dude, I have been humming and/or whistling this to myself ALL. DAY. I can't stop. It's stuck in my head; not that it's a bad thing...
